Abstract The function of the rotator cuft is better understood as a result of the accelerated interest in biomechanics. one can consider the cuff as a dynaic stabilizer of the shoulder joint and also as a Moter for active movement of the arm. Calcitic tendinitis was described as degeneration of the collage. with calcium salt deposition. and focal inflammation . in acute stage, dramatic releif Can be provided by an injection of lidocaine and steroids into the subacromial space around the supraspinatus tendon for deposits located there and near the lesser tuberosity for those in the subscapularis tendinitis. Painful arc of motion, a frequent cause of shoulder disability, is caused by mechanical impingement on the rotator cuff as it passes beneath thecoracoacromial arca. Various operative procedures have already been described for the release of these mechanical impingement when the symptoms are resistent and unresponsive to conservative treatment. Total acromionectomy and glenoid esteotomy were advised. |
