Abstract The endothelium is the major source ofvWf, but it is also present in platelets. Also produced by Platelet-endothelial interactions or platelet destruction by autoimmune thrombocytopenia in connective tissue diseases. This work was done to identify the significance of the correlation between vWf level and disease activity and/or severity of the thrombotic and vascular complications which might be present 44 patients suffering form RA and SLE comprised the subjects of this study, 19 patients are RA and 15 are SLE their ages varied between 30-60 years with a mean of 31 years. All patients were subjected to full history taking, complete clinical examination, radiological investigation and laboratory investigation with stress on detection of vwf by ELISA. Ten normal cases were taken as a control group to evaluate the accuracy of the analysed material. The results obtained were tabulated, graphed and statistically analyzed. They were as follows, ESR increase in RA patients in comparison to control group and SLE. There is strong correlation between duration of morning stiffness, vWf and ESR. Also a good positive correlation was found between SeN and ISF ’and ESR. |
