Abstract The aim of the present work was to determine any differenoes in the diuretio response to furosemide, ethaorynio aoid and hydrochlorothiazide when given before and after food intake. The study oomprised 30 patients agtng between 35-75 years and olassified under three groupsa Group I: Comprised 5 hypertensive and 5 asoitio patients, the drug under trial was 40 mg furosemide daily. Group II: Comprised 6 hypertensive and 4asoitio patients, the drug under trial was 50 mg ethaorYnio acid daily. Group III: Comprised 8 hypertensive and two asoitio patients, the drug under trial was 25 mg hydroohlorothiazide daily. The drug under study in aaeh group was adm:inistered for three days before breakfast and for another three days after breakfast ; the urinary output was measured daily for every case separately. |
