Abstract
This study included (30) insulin dependent diabetic patients and (10) control subjects. They were classified according to duration of diabetes into two groups: a) 14 cases with history of diabetes 5 years or less. b) 16 cases with history of diabetes more than 5 years and according to 2-h blood glucose level into: c) 20 cases with blood glucose level more than 200mg/dl. d)10 cases with blood glucose level 200mg/dl or less. and acording to status of autonomic nervous system into: e) 8 cases with normal status. f) 16 cases with border line disturbances of the autonomic nervous system.c) 6 cases with evident dysfunction of the autonomic nervous system and 10 control subjects. All cases were submitted to full history taking and clinical examination.
