Abstract
Chemotherapy Of the cytotoxic drugs are used in the treatment Of a large nuumber of malignant diseases in different stages. ototoxic effect Of chemotherapy Protocols is uncommon, Cis-platinum is the most famous drug in Producing impairement of hearing level which is bilateral, Permenent and affects high frequencies. This work was conducted on forty eight Patients Suffering from different malignant diseases. Their ages ranged from 20-70 years and comprised 27 males and 21 females. They did not receive ototoxic drugs, chemotherapy or radiotherapy before. We administrated cis-platinum (plationol) to six patients Cyolophogphamide to six patients and Methotrexate to six Patients also Cdmbination protocols were given to thirty patients from our series i.e. ten patients received cmf, seven patients received CHOP, seven patients received CVP and six patients received coopers protocols. Clinical evaluation including otoscopic examination ,hearing teste and pure tone audiomentry were done for each case.
