Abstract This study was accomplished on fourty patients (ASA. I) to detect the effect of pretreatment with H, and hL histamine antagonists on the duration and degree of d-tubocurarine indu¬ced hypotension. The patients u/ere classified into four groups, ten patients each. All patients vi/ere premedicated by diazepam 10 mg and morphine 10 mg 1. l. In the first (control) group? anaesthesia was induced with thiopenton sodium 5 mg. kg”” followed by suxamethonium 1 mg. kg. Anaesthesia was maint¬ained with nitrous oxide and oxygen (6:3 L/m.) respectively* After intubation and recovery from suxamethonium apnea, d-¬tubocurarine 0.5 mg.kg was injected I. 1. The same anaesthetic procedure were used in all groups . However in the second group, chlorphineramine male-ate 0.5 mg.kg was injected I.V. prior to the administration of the relaxant dose of d-tubocurarine . In the third group, cimitidine 4 mg.kg was injected before d-tubocurarine . In the last group a combination of -1 -1 chlorphineramine maleate 0.5 mg.kg and cimitidine 4 mg. kg u/as injected just before d-tubocurarine. |
