Abstract

Effects of inoculation with cyanobacteria on some microbiological, chemical, physicochemical and enzymatic properties under waterlogged conditions in soil treated with different levels of urea and the herbicide Saturn were studies in a lab soil/water system simulated rice fields in the Nile delta. A homogenized clayloamy alluvial soil originated from the ancient annual Nileflood sediments collected from a rice farm area near the Sakha Agricultural Research Station Kafr ElSheikh was used in this study. Urea was used in the rates simulating 0, 48, 96 or 144 kg N/ha, Saturn (Thiobencarb) was used at the rate of 4.8 l/ha and inoculation performed with a strain of Anabaena oryzae isolated from Egypt Nile delta. The determinations were at 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, 36, 43 and 49 days after submergence and lasted for only one month for the enzymatic determinations.
