Abstract Meningitis means inflammation (painful swelling) of the lining of the brain, Microbiologic causes of meningitis include bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites. Bacterial infections are considered to be a major cause of sudden deaths, and it is considered a serious infection of the fluid of the spinal cord and the fluid that surrounds the brain and the bacteria that causes meningitis can also infect the blood. In conclusion : 1 The 95KDa H. influenzae antigen in CSF and serum was identified in samples meningitis patients. 2 The target antigen was detected in CSF and serum samples of meningitis patients using ELISA. showing that, there is significant correlation (r= 0.246, P value < 0.001) between the value of the mean optical density of serum and CSF and no significant difference (p > 0.05) between detection rate of H. influenzae antigen in serum and CSF samples However, The use of serum samples are superb CSF samples due to the spinal tab process is painful of meningitis patients. 3 The 95 KDa antigen may have a diagnostic potential for diagnosis of H. influenzae infection. Also, ELISA can be used successfully in the detection of CSF, Serum circulating H. influenzae antigen in meningitis patients. |
