Abstract The work described in this thesis has been undertaken with the aim of searching for synthesis of new heterocycles as disperse dyes of expected biological actyivity. The work presented in this thesis consists of three main parts. Part I It was our interested to prepare several pyrazolyl azo derivatives and their applications as azodisperse dyes for dyeing polyester and polyamide fabrics. Part II The prepared disperse dyes were applied to polyester and polyamide fabrics. The dye ability and the quantitative colour measurements are measured. Part III Antimicrobial activities for many prepared compounds and on dyed fabrics was performed using the cupdiffusion technique in solid agar plates against two important microbes. Pseudomonas aeurginosa was tested as a standard gram negative pathogenic bacteria and Bacillus Subtilis as standard gram positive bacteria on dyed fabrics or without. |
