Abstract

The pace at which water is generated during solar desalination can be accelerated by using energy storage materials. When the water temperature drops at night, the materials used for energy storage, which have been collecting thermal energy from the system, release it for solar desalination. The possibility of thermal energy storage materials might result in the fusion with other thermal energy sources and the capture of their waste heat energy, which would then transfer the thermal energy into the salt water produced by sun desalination. The water productivity of the solar desalination system may be increased by integrating energy applications for storing the waste thermal energy with energy storage materials. The energy storage material’s essential function is to store waste heat energy before releasing it to a solar desalination unit. NDBP, a Nano doped black paint, was also painted on the absorber. The experimental work is done between 7:00 a.m. and 19:00 p.m. For conventional and modified solar stills, the solar radiation intensity, ambient temperature, glass cover temperature, basin water temperature, humid air temperature, are measured every one hour.
