Abstract

Dry eye is a disease of the ocular surface caused by different etiological factors. Normal ocular surface microenvironment is essential for healthy ocular surface and complete evaluation of OSM helps in treatment of dry eye.
Although LASIK is a very popular safe operation, post LASIK dry eye is considered common complication as it occurs in almost half of patients at first week postoperative. In most cases post LASIK dry eye lasts for one month then it improves.
The aim of this work is to correlate between the ocular surface changes and central corneal thickness after LASIK, using the ocular surface analyzer.
The study was a prospective comparative interventional study in which we enrolled patients who underwent refractive surgery for correction of myopia and myopic astigmatism. The steps of LASIK were explained to the patients along with possible complications and written informed consent was provided to all patients before enrolment in the study
The study included forty eyes of twenty two patients with myopia or myopic astigmatism who underwent refractive surgery.
