Abstract
This case control observational study was done on 21 patients with cholesteatoma. The patients were recruited from the outpatient ENT clinic of Assiut University Hospital in the period between January 2021 and December 2022.
Data and detailed patient history were collected, a complete examination of the ear was performed using an otoscope, and a multi-section CT scan was performed on Temporal bones. Measurements were made to determine the level of the middle cranial fossa dura through two main levels in the affected ear and comparing it to the healthy ear.
In this study we found significant lower level of middle cranial fossa dura in affected ear, in two main planes by using HRCT scan, in comparison to the healthy ear.
