Abstract Auditory function deterioration and cognitive decline are conditions commonly found in elderly population and may compromise the aging process. Temporal processing deficit in the central auditory system likely contribute to impaired speech in noise in elderly. S-ABR provides cues for temporal and spectral encoding of speech in the brainstem. Moreover, laboratory studies confirm that S-ABR recording in noise increases its sensitivity in evaluating auditory processing and related disorders. |
