Abstract The problem of soft soil settlement has been a great concern for many years. A parametric study is carried out to study the behavior of cylindrical tanks under different soil improvement solutions. There are many methods to improve soft soil. The most common methods used in this area are improving using the stone column, encased stone column, soil preloading, and differential footing level. A 3D finite element analyzes the response of cylindrical tanks. The analysis accounts for the soil layers defined by Mohr-Coulomb and the Hardening soil model. The study presents guidelines for circular storage tanks that may be used in the Port-Said area. |
