Abstract The current study confirmed a correlation between CYP4A11 expression and higher tumour grade (p-value= 0.013), which is consistent with findings from YANG Dandan et al. (2021) and Kim et al. (2020) (p-values of 0.05 and 0.001, respectively). There was no correlation between CYP4A11 expression and tumour stage in either this study or Kim et al. (2020; p-values: 0.176 and 0.773, respectively), but YANG Dandan et al. (2021) did find a correlation between CYP4A11 expression and advanced tumour stages (p0.05). While a study on hepatocellular carcinoma by Eun et al. (2019) found that CYP4A11 was associated with low tumour grade and early stage, suggesting a favourable prognosis, a study on triple-negative breast carcinoma cases by HE et al. (2019) found a significant relation with advanced tumour stage (p-vale 0.001), suggesting a poorer outcome.Triple negative breast carcinomas and glioblastomas that overexpressed CYP4A11 also showed increased proliferation capacity and significant tumour growth, as reported by Borin et al. (2019), suggesting that these tumours were more aggressive.Increased proliferation, invasion, angiogenesis, and metastasis were observed in non-small cell lung cancer cell lines with CYP4A11 overexpression (Gandhi et al., 2013). |
