Abstract

AutoSAR is a standard created by automotive manufactures for improving software production in the automotive field and to manage the software and the complexity associated with growth in functional scope. AutoSAR increases scalability and flexibility to integrate and transfer functions and ensures software modularity and configurability as it is hardware independent using the layered basic software architecture for automotive electronic control units.
The AutoSAR development partnership is adding a new standard to its line-up: the “AutoSAR Adaptive Platform”. The AutoSAR Adaptive Platform is a futureproof basis for automotive Electronic Control Units (ECUs). Adaptive AutoSAR is not a replacement of classical standard, but adaptive AutoSAR can be considered as complement of classical AutoSAR standard. As the Adaptive Platform is AutoSAR’s solution for high-performance computing ECUs to build safety-related systems for use cases such as highly automated and autonomous driving.
In this thesis the AutoSAR will be studied and the recent developments in literature will be scanned to allocate set of enhancement priorities in the area of communication and security. The objective of this research work in this thesis is to provide an enhanced standard for the automotive industry that fits the recent applications of the autonomous vehicles.
