Abstract Lympho-proliferative disorders originating from non-lymphoid tissues or at locations other than the predicted native lymph nodes or lymphoid tissues are composed of extranodal lymphomas. In particular non-Hodgkin lymphomas and Hodgkin’s disease also contain extra nodal structures in the abdomen and pelvis, including both solid organs (liver, spleen, kidney, pancreas) and hollow gastrointestinal tract organs. (leite et al, 2007) In general extranodal involvement is more common in non-Hodgkin than in Hodgkin disease and more common in patients with recurrent disease or immunodeficiency related disease than in patient with an initial manifestation. |
