Abstract

All nursing staff who are working in the previously mention units will be included in the study (N=400) who are providing direct and indirect nursing care, have more than one year of experiences in the work setting and utilize their own smartphone.
4. Tools: Two tools will be used to collect the data:
Tool I: Smartphone Utilization in HealthcareQuestionnaire
This tool will be developed by the researcher after an extensive related literature review (Diaz, Chiaburu, Zimmerman & Boswell, 2012; McBride et al., 2013; Mobasheri et al., 2015; Cho & Lee, 2016; Bautista et al., 2018; Bautista, 2019; Martin et al., 2019)it will be used to assess nurses utilization of smartphone in their work setting .It will includes items related to two dimension; uses of smartphone for work purposes ,and for non work purposes for example ;Using smartphone to make work related calls with other nurses, exchange work related text,images,videos with nurses,and doctors ,read online news and check social net working issues…etc .
The responses will be measured on five point likert scale ranging from (1) strongly disagree to (5) strongly agree, scoring system will be identified.
Tool II: Utrecht Work Engagement Scale.
This tool was developed by Schaufeli et al. (2006) and updated by Sulaiman and Zahoni (2016) to assess nurses’ work engagement. It consists of 14 items classified into 3 dimensions; vigor (5 items), dedication (5 items), and absorption (4 items). The responses will be measured on a 7-point likert scale ranging from (0) never to (7) always. The overall sore range from 0-98; the higher score represent higher work engagement and vice versa. The mean percent score range from 0 - 33.3% indicates lower work engagement, (33.4 - 66.6) indicates moderate work engagement and (66.7 – 100%) indicates higher work engagement (Schaufeli et al., 2006; Sulaiman & Zahoni, 2016).
In addition, socio-demographic data;It will be developed by researcher related to age, gender, educational level and social status andwork related data as working units ,years of experience and availability of smartphone with nurses during their work.
