Abstract There is an upsurge in the prevalence of the End-stage renal disease (ESRD) worldwide associated with increased burden on health system due to renal replacement therapy (RRT) and kidney transplantation. (1) ESRD is accompanied with severe morbidity, mortality, high cost for management and different effects on general health.(2) GIS has been used in the study of ESRD. Using GIS software to measure distances from providers to patients has been helpful in investigating the barriers to renal care. Geospatial approaches are utilized in the planning of renal services such as efforts to identify sites for future dialysis facilities.(106) |
