Abstract Medicinal and aromatic plants are very economical export crops. The use of medicinal and aromatic plants dates back to ancient civilizations such as the ancient Egyptians and the Greek civilization. Recently, thanks to the development and scientific progress in various fields, man has been able to gradually dispense with medicinal plants in treatment and replace them with medicines and chemical drugs. According to the World Health Organization, about 60% of the world’s population depends on these plants and their derivatives are in great demand due to their nutritional and medicinal value. The radish, known as Raphanus sativus L., is one of the most common root vegetable crops belonging to the Brassicaceae family and one of the essential annual or biennial root vegetable crops. The fleshy taproot comprises the chief edible portion of the plant with high nutrition. The cultivation of radish seeds is excellent in Egypt in winter and autumn seasons.
