Abstract

The Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT) technique has gained significant attention as a promising treatment for cancer patients, particularly those afflicted with deep-seated glial tumors. By reducing undesired doses from neutron beam sources, BNCT offers a more selective alternative to traditional radiotherapy methods. However, inadvertent dosage sources, including thermal neutrons, fast neutrons, and ionizing gamma rays, pose potential risks. This study aimed to assess the attenuation properties of various materials against these sources by developing a theoretical framework based on the Monte Carlo approach. Experimental simulations were conducted on Lead Borate Glazed and Unglazed Ceramic composites, along with twelve additional compounds.
