Abstract A general survey is given in Chapter I for classification of solvents,solute-solvent interactions , properties of the used mixed solvent and importance of malic acid including the effect of solvent on the dissociation reactions of malic acid and their thermodynamic consequences , beside the thermodynamics of ionic associations have been reviewed . Chapter II discusses the practical part of this work in which the electromotive force EMF method used for the determination of both acid and ion-pair dissociation constants in acetonitrile-water media of varying solvent composition (0-50 wt% of AN) and within the temperature range ( 30-50 ℃). The EMF measurements have been performed with Crison pHmeter MM 41 type read to ±0.1 mV, beside the method of preparations of the used solutions and materials have been discussed. |
