This thesis deals with using three friendly natural plants (Aloe vera, Clove and Curcumin) and extracting of antibacterial substances as environmentally friendly materials.
By application the principles of green chemistry, Antibacterial Finishing cellulosic fabrics with the three friendly natural extracts loaded with nano-chitosan particles to obtain cellulosic fabrics with a superior ability to resist bacteria using in the medical field to void the transmission of infections and pathogenic.
Physico-chemical and mechanical properties shows enhancement by using chitosan nanoparticles and natural extracts composite where: as the nano-chitosan particles percent increased, the nitogen percent and antibacterial activity expressed in reduction percent increased without any observed decreased in mechanical propreties.
The loading of natural extracts such as Aloe Vera extract, Clove extract and Curcumin extarct on nano-chitosan particles poly load, resulting in a nanocomposite, was employed to increase bioactivity without toxicity, hence improving their biomedical uses. This nanocomposite was applied to cotton and viscose fabrics to give them extraordinary antibacterial properties. The increased penetration of nanoparticles and crosslinking of adjacent fiber molecules by various forces between amino (-NH2) and hydroxyl (-OH) groups of chitosan and hydroxyl (-OH) groups of cellulose molecules resulted in improved physicochemical and mechanical properties of cotton and viscose fabrics coated with nano-chitosan particles and (Aloe vera, Clove and Curcumin) Poly load nanocomposite.
