Abstract Objective: The aim of the study was to assess the effect of incorporation silver nanoparticles to resin composite restorative material on its shear punch strength and degree of conversion. Method: A total of 60 cylindrical resin composite specimens (A) was divided into three equal groups of twenty discs each. First group (A0) used as a control. Second group (A1); modified by incorporating spherical silver nanoparticles. Third group (A2); modified by incorporating anisotropic silver nanoparticles. Later on, each group was divided into two sub-groups; first sub-group of 15 specimens used for conducting shear punch strength test and the second sub-group of the resting 5 specimens used to evaluate the degree of conversion. Results: There was no statistically significant difference between specimens, in shear punch strength, with or without silver, of either shape; spherical or anisotropic. |
