المستخلص Nephrotic syndrome (NS) is a primary immune disease associated with various genetic backgrounds and polymorphisms including apolipoprotein E (ApoE) and multi drug resistance 1 (MDR1) genes which may influence the prognosis and steroid responsiveness in children with idiopathic nephrotic syndrome. To study the association of ApoE and MDR1 C3435T gene polymorphisms with susceptibility to nephrotic syndrome in children and the response to corticosteroid therapy. A case control study of 100 participants: 60 children with nephrotic syndrome (40 with steroid sensitive nephrotic syndrome (SSNS), 20 with steroid resistant nephrotic syndrome (SRNS)) patients with steroid-sensitive and steroid - resistant nephrotic syndrome. and 40 age and sex matched healthy control children. All subjects were analyzed for ApoE and MDR1 C3435T polymorphisms using SYBR green - based allele - specific polymerase chain reaction method |
