Abstract Objective: To identify risk factors and clinical profile, different management modalities of the patients presenting with acute ST -elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI),with short term follow up. Background: Clinical and experimental studies suggest that primary PCI is superior to thrombolytic therapy if performed in a timely fashion,the favorable outcomes achieved with primary PCI is rising when door to balloon is 90 minutes. Regarding risk factors soking is independent risk factor of STEMI especially in young patients. Methods: This prospective observational study was carried out from October 2012 till October 2013. The 120 consecutive patients presenting with typical electrocardiographic changes of acute ST elevation myocardial infarction to the Emergency Department of our hospital were recruited in the study. we assessed the patients and documented the predefined independent variable and patients characteristics.
