Abstract A Phytochemical study of the fruit, root and stem of Carica papaya L. Family Caricaceae was carried out. Literature survey on different organs was reviewed. A detailed phytochemical study included proximate analyses, nutritive value and HPLC investigation of the flavonoids, phenolic and aromatic acids content of the fruit were carried out. Preliminary phytochemical screening, lipid content, alkaloid and tannins content of the root and stem were carried out. HPLC investigation of the flavonoids, phenolic and aromatic acids content of the root and stem were investigated.
