Abstract The long Gamma nail is considered an ideal implant for fixation of the sub-trochanteric fractures of the femur and its usually is minimally invasive procedure and it does not leads to tissue damage which is considered to be the most the most important factor in the healing process of the bone and its still considered to be technically demanding procedure and its reduction is challenging .The cephalo-medullary nail still has an advantage over many implants such as dynamic condylar screw, the first mentioned implant is considered minimally invasive technique and gaining its mechanical properties such as short lever arm and decreased tensile strain. In the other hand, an attempt to minimize the risk of complications, the key is an ideal placement of the of the nail entery point and the technique and quality which is being used for reduction of the subtrochanteric fracture of the femur. |
