It is important to find effective treatments and coping mechanisms that can solve this problem. Purpose: This study aimedto determine the impact of aerobic training on stress and fatigue in breastfeeding employed mothers. Subjects: Sixty lactating employed women who were suffering from stress and fatigue, were randomized into two groups equal in number. They were chosen from medical field workers from the Ministry of Health and Population, AlSharqia governorate. Experimental group (group A) performed aerobic exercises in form of walking on treadmill (60-70% of HRmax), 30 minutes per session, five sessions per week for 6 weeks and also followed lifestyle modification advice. Control group (group B) got only lifestyle modification advice. Assessment of stress and fatigue was performed before and after the intervention using perceived stress scale (PSS-10) and fatigue assessment scale (FAS) respectively. Results: Post-intervention comparison between both groups showed a significant decline in the score of PSS-10 and FAS in group A in relation to that of group B (p= 0.001). Also, stress and fatigue were correlated positively (p=0.002). Conclusion: Aerobic exercise at a moderate intensity with lifestyle modifications had a significant effect in reducing stress and fatigue of lactating |
