Abstract

Liver fibrosis is a response generated due to chronic liver harm due to several elements, along with alcohol consumption, nonalcoholic steato hepatitis, viral hepatitis (hepatitis B and hepatitis C), autoimmune hepatitis, fatty liver disease, and cholestasis liver diseases. Thioacetamide (TAA) is sulfur containing compound, normally utilized in loads of technical programs as insecticides and fungicides. Curcumin is a polyphenolic, yellow compound that extracted in the beginning from Curcuma longa plant. For centuries; it’s been utilized in conventional medication in addition to in meals as stabilizing agent and spice. It has been suggested that curcumin has loads of useful residences as antimicrobial, anticancer, anti- nflammatory, and antioxidant. Current study sought to investigate the protective effects of curcumin in natural and nano forms against TAA-induced hepatic and renal toxicity in rats by measuring liver and kidney functions, antioxidant status, and DNA damage marker as well as proinflammatory cytokine TNF-α.. 60 male albino rats (Rattus norvigicus), each weighing 175±15 g, were provided by the National esearch Center in Giza, Egypt, for the current investigation. The Institutional Ethical committee for Animal Care and Use approved the study’s design (code: IACUCSCI- TU-0198.). Before the trial began, rats were kept at our Faculty’s animal house for a week. They were housed on a conventional mouse feed and water ad libitum, standard conditions of temperature (23±2°C) in a 12h light/dark cycles and a minimum relative humidity of 40%.
