Abstract

Utilizing multi-benefits produced from trees is fundamental to enhance open spaces quality either through users health or on built environment; however, most of locally urban planners and designers in Egypt still commonly belief that the landscape is only a makeup tool for an aesthetic urban context, regardless its multiple climatic functioning dimension. Therefore, this research applied multi-objective algorithm in semi-open spaces in university campus in Egypt. Research results show few trees can substantially improve thermal comfort and efficiently shade building façade in educational campus.
