Abstract The purpose of this study was to evaluate balance in neuropathic ulcer patients following participation in a physical therapy program which included traditional balance exercises and whole body vibration program three times per week for two successive months. Thirty neuropathic ulcer patients of both sexes, their ages ranged from 40 - 55 years, chosen from the Elkasr Alainy Hospital surgery department they were classified randomly into two groups of equal number (control and study). Dynamic balance parameters were assessed by using the biodex balance system before and after the application of the treatment program. The results of this study revealed statistically significant improvement in the measured variables of the study and control groups when comparing their pre and post treatment mean values also, the results showed that there was a significant improvement in the study group as compared with the control group. In conclusion, whole body vibration is an effective method to improve balance in neuropathic ulcer patients |
