Abstract This research presents a numerical study for natural ventilation techniques in mosques and worships. This research investigates the effect of using wind towers (wind catchers) in small, passive cooling and air distribution by wind catcher and its technique . Also, the effect of open windows and close windows on the air distribution in mosque. Minimum wind speed, maximum outdoor temperature and maximum allowable relative humidity to allow the natural ventilation process are determined to providing the thermal comfort zone inside the mosque space. Fluent 14 (CFD) software version 14.0 is utilized to simulate mosques models. Results show that adding of wind towers to the conditioned space improve the thermal comfort sensation for prayers |
