المستخلص Department: Curricula and Teaching Methods The study problem is represented in In the weakness of the level of the second year secondary students in the skills of imaginative thinking and mathematical strength and examining how to treat this weakness using the McCarthy model. The study aimed to identify the efficacy of Mc Carthy Model in teaching mathematics to secondary stage students and its effect on developing imaginative thinking skills and mathematical power. In order to identify this effect, the researcher conducted a theoretical study about imaginative thinking, his skills in general and his imaginative thinking skills and his skills in mathematics in particular, and about some mathematical power operations (mathematical representations - mathematical communication - mathematical connections). The researcher conducted an experimental study in which the research sample consisted of (84) male and female students of the second year of general secondary school who were randomly selected from the schools of Al-Wasta city, Beni Suef Governorate, where they were divided into two groups: experimental and control, where the students of the experimental group studied (42 students). The unit ”Geometry and Measurement” using McCarthy’s model, while the students of the control group (42 students) studied using the usual methods. The study conclusion, Students who studied using the McCarthy model outperformed students who studied using the usual methods of imaginative thinking and mathematical power in mathematics. In light of the study conclusion 1. Interest in preparing mathematics curriculum guides that include lessons organized according to the procedural steps of the McCarthy model standards. 2. Providing the means, material capabilities and educational activities that contribute to the ease of teaching the mathematics curriculum according to the McCarthy model. Key words: McCarthy Model - Mathematics Teaching - Secondary School - Imaginary Thinking Skills - Mathematical Power. |
