Abstract

Gastric antral vascular ectasia (GAVE) is one of the causes of upper gastrointestinal bleeding and accounts for up to 4% of all non-variceal upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage (Dulai et al., 2004). GAVE is situated typically in antrum. It may also be seen rarely in other gastric sites. (Shaffer and Scobey, 2003). It is represented by either red line stripes radially arranged from pylorus called as (watermelon stomach), or diffuse red spots called as (honeycomb stomach) (Ito et al., 2001).Argon plasma coagulation treatment is characterized by noncontact thermal coagulation, which allows treatment of the target site by coagulation of the superficial blood vessels (Chiu et al., 2012). APC appears to be a simple, safe and effective technique in the management of different forms gastric vascular ectasia lesions (Malatawy et al., 2012).Endoscopic band ligation (EBL) is applied widely as an effective and standard treatment for esophageal varices by reason of obliteration of the submucosal varices (Qureshi et al., 2005), EBL has been carried out as an effective procedure for other gastrointestinal diseases(Berkelhammer et al., 2002 and Matsui et al.,2002).The using of EBL in the antrum of stomach with the same manner that is used for the ligation of varices has been evaluated for the treatment of GAVE (Wells et al., 2008
