Abstract

Objective: Evaluation of early hepatic artery complications post living donor liver transplantations in adults done by Cairo University Liver Transplantation Team Program and review different lines of treatment: Methods. This is a study of 20 cases of patients having early complications (within first 6 weeks from the day of surgery of LDLT) of hepatic artery post living donor liver transplantations in adults (thrombosis, stenosis, spasm and kinks,)and how they were detected early by(clinically, laboratory and radiologically) and how they were prepared and treated by endovascular therapy or laparotomy. Results: Early complications of the graft post management of HA complications during hospital stay (three cases of graft failure and one case retransplantation net results 80% of grafts passed smooth and completely recovered and 20% unsurvival graft) during follow-up (2-years) a case developed with acute rejection and management with immunosuppressive drugs, 2-cases showed with biliary complications are one of them with stricture and managed by ERCP and another case with biliary leakage and managed by ERCP. Conclusion: Arteriography not only remains the key examination for the diagnosis and evaluation of these complications but also has proved to be a graft-saving approach in the treatment of arterial complications
