Abstract Semantic web is the web of data that is considered one of the most significant concepts in information technology nowadays. Semantic Web plays a major role in enriching the web content where it allows user{u2019}s data to be linked from a source to another to be later understood by machines. So the web contents are converted from unstructured format to structured format via using semantic web technologies which help people to perform different sophisticated queries using SPARQL query language which consider one of the semantic web backbones. SPARQL depends on querying semantic data in triple form as subject, predicate and object to allow users to extract information and construct new RDF graphs depending on information retrieved. In addition to that, there are massive efforts spent in DBpedia, which is considered an example of crowdsourcing efforts that aims to extract structured data from unstructured data of Wikipedia. DBpedia enables users to perform sophisticated queries against the structure form of wikipedia content. So we can say that it is the central hub for the linked open data (LOD) because it creates linked data URIs for millions of concepts such as scientific articles, companies, music, films and people. During the last few years, 19 chapters were published in different languages including Arabic, which is characterized as the most recent chapter. A lot of contributions are still needed towards the Arabic chapter with its specific characteristics |
