First: the problem of the study
The problem of the current study is determined by answering the following question: What are the methodological foundations of some social programs on Egyptian television and their implications for viewership rates in general and for Egyptian women in particular?
Second: the importance of the study
The scientific importance of our current study is determined by the importance of the subject from the sociological point of view, and by the extent to which social programs on Egyptian television adhere to the methodological foundations and achieve viewer satisfactions.
The practical importance is determined by knowing the reasons for the high or low viewing rates of some Egyptian television channels.
Third: the most important objectives
1. Find out the viewership rates for some social channels and programs on television.
2. Know the reasons for watching some social programs on Egyptian television.
3. Knowledge of the percentages of applying the theory of social responsibility, theory uses, and gratifications in social programs on Egyptian television.
Fourth: the most important questions
The questions of the current study are determined by defining the main question; which means: What are the methodological foundations of some social programs on Egyptian television and their implications for viewership rates in general and for Egyptian women? The following sub-questions emerge from this:
1. What are the percentages of watching Egyptian TV channels?
2. What are the reasons for watching some social programs on Egyptian television?
3. What are the percentages of applying the theory of social responsibility, uses, and gratifications in social programs on Egyptian television?
Fifth: methodological procedures
Study type: descriptive analytical studies.
Tools: scale, in-depth interview guide, content analysis guide
Fields of study:
1. The human field: (402) random sample, (7) officials in charge of programs and channels inside the Egyptian Radio and Television building.
2. Documentary: (5) programs.
3. Time range: the period from January 2020 to September 2022.
4. The geographical area: the Egyptian society, the Egyptian Radio and Television building.
Sixth: The most important results
1. The results of the study showed a decrease in viewership rates of Egyptian television channels in general.
2. The results of the study revealed that the most suitable periods for watching Egyptian television channels and programs are the evening period.
3. The results of the study showed that one of the most important reasons for following up some social programs is the interest in following the systematic social and psychological foundations.
4. The results of the study showed that one of the reasons for the public not following some social programs on Egyptian television is the lack of development in the form and content of the programs.
5. The results of the study revealed that social programs on Egyptian television suffer from economic and financing problems.
6. The results of the study showed that one of the reasons for the poor viewership is the inability of the programs to follow the modern technological and technical foundations.
7. The results of the study revealed that social programs on Egyptian television apply the theory of social responsibility by 65.19%.
8. The results of the study monitored that social programs on Egyptian television apply the uses and gratifications theory at a rate of 41.01%.
Seventh: Recommendations
1. The need to develop a plan for program development.
2. Allocating a budget for the renewal of devices, equipment and decorations.
3. Training cadres of workers inside the radio and television building to develop their knowledge, emotional, innovative and intellectual skills.
4. Freedom from some regulatory restrictions in line with the requirements of the times, which are constant change and development, by raising awareness of the masses and the ability to innovate, create, and express opinions, while observing the ethical and legal asp.
