Abstract Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a type of autoimmune disorder that attacks the central nervous system. It can cause severe physical and cognitive deficits in young adults (Dobson & Giovannoni, 2019).The central nervous system (CNS) is prone to inflammation due to the infiltration of macrophage and T-lymphocytes into the perivascular spaces and brain parenchyma. This inflammation then leads to the formation of plaques composed of various inflammatory cells, finally causing demyelination (Garg & Smith, 2015).MS is a complex disease that can affect different parts of the body. There are various types of MS that can be diagnosed and treated. Some of these include relapsing-remitting MS, primary progressive MS, and secondary progressive MS and progressive remitting MS (Dobson & Giovannoni, 2019; Sormani, 2020). |
