Abstract
Intravenous fluid therapy is a cornerstone in treating the surgical patient. Choosing an ideal regimen whether 2restrictive3 or 2liberal3 has an impact during and after surgery. In this study, a comparison between restrictive hydration combined with norepinephrine infusion and liberal hydration in two groups of 35 patients per group undergoing open abdominal surgery was performed, with standardized anesthetic technique. Then postoperative evaluation of morbidity and mortality, by the Clavien-Dindo classification, was recorded. Resultsrevealed that restrictive regimen had better results for morbidity and biomarkers compared to liberal regimen
