Abstract Enamel Matrix Derivatives and Xenograft were used in this research to investigate the radiographic effects of Subperiosteal Minimally Invasive Aesthetic Ridge Augmentation Technique (SMART) radiographically utilising cone beam computed tomography (CBCT At the outpatient clinic of the Oral Medicine, Oral Diagnosis and Periodontology Department, Faculty of Dentistry, Minia University, 24 patients with post-extraction residual ridge resorption in the mandibular molar region were identified. Randomly, the chosen patients were split into two groups of 12 each; one group was given Emdogain with Xenograft while the other group received simply Xenograft. Incisions were created in regions that were not near the areas where bone grafting was needed. A full thickness flap was also lifted to make the subperiosteal pouch stretch to cover all the grafting region, and then the vertical incisions were closed by interrupted sutures. Afterwards. Cone beam CT was used to examine patients before, six, and 12 months after surgery. Six months and a year after surgery, patients in group A had higher mean values than those in group B, and this difference was statistically significant. |
