Abstract The study aimed to find the underlying causes and background characteristics of chronic Kidney Disease in children, also to identify its clinical presentation. It was cross sectional study including 300 CKD patients, who were studied regarding (demographic data, clinical presentation, anthropometric measurements, etiology of CKD, and age of disease onset, residence, and state of paternal consanguinity, laboratory findings, medications and imaging. Results shows that CAKUT was the most common cause of CKD, also results showed that consanguinity was a significant risk factor for CKD. Pallor, edema, dysuria, anuria, hematuria and vomiting were the most common presenting symptom of CKD in our children |
