Abstract Oxidation behavior of non-equiatomic AL₅CR₁₂FE₃₅ MN₂₈NI₂₀ high entropy alloy was investigated at 900-1100{u2103} in air for continuous 100 hours. The oxidation rate followed parabolic law with an activation energy equals to 100.8 kJ/mol. At all temperatures the alloy produced a duplex layer scale consisted of manganese oxides that overlays layer of Mn-Cr-Fe spinel oxides. While at 1000-1100{u2103} the alloys were also oxidized internally consisted of aluminum oxide precipitates deep in the alloy. The samples oxidized at 1000{u2103} for 1 and 24 hours formed scale of Mn3O4 overlaying Mn-Cr-Fe rich spinel oxide |
