Abstract

This research investigated the effectiveness of a suggested program based on Flipped Learning for developing Study Skills of EFL first year university students and their attitudes towards them. The participants of the study were 47 students in two groups: 23 students in the experimental group and 24 students in the control group. The instruments of the research were a pre-post-test and a term paper project rubric card for the control and experimental groups, and a pre-post-attitude scale was conducted only for the experimental group. They were applied in the first semester of the academic year 2018-2019 at the Arab Academy for Science and Technology (AAST), College of International Transport and Logistics (CITL) in Cairo. The results showed that the experimental group{u2019}s attitude is better in the post application. Also, there are significant differences in students{u2019} achievements in the essential Study Skills (Cornell notes, outlining, annotating, paraphrasing, summarizing, citing references, and term paper skills) in favor of the experimental group. Although, the experimental group{u2019}s mean score was higher than the control group one in the oral presentation skills, more time and concern are suggested for developing this skill
