Abstract In this thesis, a proposed strategy is developed and applied to a building existing in Egypt. This strategy is aiming to: improve the building energy efficiency, reduce the electrical energy consumption and show the economic effects of adding renewable energy system to this building.This study utilizing a case study for an educational building exist in El-Sheikh Zayed in Egypt, Initially, it is studying the characteristics of the building and its thermal load profile along with its meteorological properties. The first step is estimating the thermal load by the Carrier Hourly Analysis Program (HAP 4.9) which estimates: the hourly cooling load during the year and the maximum cooling load of the whole building.The second step is how to design the PV system used, to feed the pumps required for the solar cooling system by PVSYST software then model and simulate the required absorption system and comparing the various types of solar collectors using TRNSYS software in order to determine the suitable system performance corresponding to the optimal system which chooses to the building under study |
