Abstract

Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis, affecting millions of people worldwide. osteoarthritis (OA) is the most popular chronic joint disease. OA one of the major causes of disability in people aged >65 years, and followed by comorbid conditions, increased mortality, and decreased quality of life. OA accompanied with following symptoms: pain, tenderness, stiffness, loss of flexibility, grating sensation, and bone spurs. Symptoms, primarily pain, might be helped by certain medications, including: non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), and skeletal-muscles relaxant. Therefore, the meloxicam (NSAIDs), and Baclofen (muscles relaxant) were selected as drugs of choice for treatment of OA where Baclofen was structural analog of gamma amino-butyric acid is a centrally acting skeletal muscle relaxant, which was widely used in the treatment of spasticity resulting from multiple sclerosis, muscle spasms, muscular rigidity, and spinal cord injuries, where pain persist predominantly in such cases the quick onset of action is very critical
