Abstract Cancer, one of the leading causes of death across the world, causing great stress to human lives. Most of patients have been in the advanced stage of cancer when definitely diagnosed, which jeopardizes their opportunity for treatment by operation technique. Chemotherapy is the primary treatment for them. However, the use of chemotherapeutic drugs with several side effects and poor tolerance is limited in patients. This increases challenges for scientists to reach novel effective anticancer agents, which have potential activity against cancer cells. Therefore, the development of novel, efficient, and less toxic anticancer agents remains a serious and challenging goal of medicinal scientists worldwide. One of the most powerful antitumor scaffolds discovered is Ü,Ý-unsaturated ketone moiety, chalcone moiety. Thus, medicinal chemists embarked on exploring diverse chalcone derivatives recognizing their potential to create novel anticancer agents |
