Abstract Since the introduction of concept of endoscopic sinus surgery in late 80s of last century, it has become clear that {u2018}{u2018}frontal recess{u2019}{u2019} or outflow tract of the frontal sinus is the key area in pathogenesis of frontal sinus disease. The aim of the present work was to study and understand the different types of fronto-ethmoid air cells and their classifications in patients suffering from various types of diseases affecting this complex region. Correlations of findings obtained by preoperative endoscopy and computed tomography (CT) help in reaching an accurate diagnosis, so as to anticipate and plan for safe and efficient endoscopic frontal sinus surgery. This can finally lead to an increase in the incidence of successful operations and minimizes the risk of surgical failure and postoperative complications |
