Abstract The study was conducted to reveal the efficacy of single tibial artery angioplasty in critical limb ischemia, after applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, 110 patients with critical lower limb ischemia, (46 patient underwent single tibial revascularization and 64 patients underwent multiple tibial angioplasty) at Mansoura University Hospitals with 1-year post intervention follow-up. Results : Healing rate was 87.3% in the single group compared to 62.5% in the multiple group. Patency rates were 84.8%, 76.1%, 67.4% in the single group while in the multiple group rates were 85.9%, 73.4% and 71.8% at 3, 6 and 12 months, respectively. Limb salvage rates were 97.8% at 3 and 6 months in the single group and 89% at 12 months. In the multiple group, rates were 96.8%, 93.7% and 81% at 3, 6 and 12 months. Conclusion : Single tibial angioplasty is safe and effective method in critical limb ischemia when no option is applicable to revascularize the ischemic limb. |
