Abstract

This is a prospective study that was conducted at medical oncology department of National cancer institute, Cairo University between January 2015 and October 2017 and included 103 adult patients with newly diagnosed DLBCL who have been treated with RCHOP protocol to evaluate the prognostic impact of NLR and dNLR on those patients. Regarding response, our results showed that 84% of our 100 patients achieved complete remission after receiving RCHOP regimen while 16% of patients did not achieve complete remission. About 94% of patients with early stage disease (stages I & II) had achieved CR after receiving RCHOP regimen while 77% of patients with advanced stage disease (stages III & IV) had achieved CR with statistically significant p value 0.018. Patients presented with splenomegaly were more resistant to respond to RCHOP regimen then those without splenomegaly (67.9% vs. 90.3% respectively) with p value 0.006. ALC with a cutoff value of 1.85 was found to have a significant impact on response as 94% of patients with ALC >1.85 had achieved CR while only 74% of patients {u2264}1.85 had achieved CR after receiving RCHOP regimen with p value 0.006 but that impact did not confirmed when we used a cutoff value of 0.10.Also patients with high serum LDH level was found to be less likely to achieve CR as 100% of patients with normal LDH level had achieved CR versus 80% of high LDH level had achieved CR with p value 0.048.Other different features were not found to have a significant impact on response after receiving RCHOP regimen
